It’s raining this morning in Los Angeles and I love it. While I’d prefer more rainfall than we typically get and I do miss East Coast thunderstorms, I’ll gladly take what I can get.

Shortly after Micah and I moved to LA, LACMA did an exhibit with Guillero Del Toro that featured his collection of art, props, and costumes that fill his home in LA.

Of all the amazing things on display, the part that I think of most was the recreated rain room. Del Toro has a room in his house rigged with lighting and sound effects to give the illusion of rain and wow, I get it. If I ever make it big1 (“big” meaning home ownership in Southern California), I’m making a rain room too.

  1. Micah has stated that his “make it big” item would be a jungle room a la Graceland, which I think complements a rain room nicely! ↩︎
